Plastic pallets are becoming more common in warehouses and industrial applications. These plastic pallets provide protection against dry rot, dampness and termites. Plastic pallets last longer than wood ones; plastic is not susceptible to water damage or the effects of weathering.
Whereas plastic pallets are more expensive then [sic] wooden ones (about four times as much), companies find plastic pallets worth the investment. Pallets made of plastic have better durability and therefore last longer. They will not splinter, warp, rot or crack. plastic pallets have a longer life expectancy than wooden ones. Plastic pallets are also easier to clean and disinfect with chemicals. The plastic pallets do not absorb the chemical which is used for cleaning purposes.
Plastic pallets are used especially in food industry where hygiene and sanitation play a major role. These plastic pallets are used for transporting and storing food in warehouses, supermarkets etc.
For bulk storage, plastic pallets have a higher load capacity than wooden ones. Wooden pallets usually break under heavy loads but plastic pallets are more flexible and more durable.
