Warehouse Shelving Buyer’s Guide

There are many challenges when it comes to creating and maintaining a safe place to store items. The good news is that you have a variety of options to choose from when looking to buy warehouse shelving. Our warehouse shelving at Yankee Supply has a wide range of shelf styles that make the selection process a lot easier.

Boltless Shelves

These styles are starters used for storing, organizing or displaying and are ideal for industrial, wholesale and retail applications. They are made out of galvanized steel providing resistance to mechanical damage and protection of steel in soil, concrete or under water. This shelving option is sturdy and has a rigid surface, holding up to 400 lbs. You can use it for most objects and easily slide items on and off the shelves. They are great for any kind of general purpose storage.

Particle Board Shelves

Particle board is the industry standard shelving material. Particle board is made of lightweight waste materials such as wood chips, wood shavings and sawdust. While light and inexpensive, it’s hard to shape or mold because it is easy to break or chip. It’s also subject to tear out depending on the care given.

Galvanized finish

Galvanized materials prevent rusting and corrosion. A galvanized finish means that a protective layer of zinc coating is applied on materials such as steel or iron to protect them. When the zinc coating is intact, it protects against corrosion particles from reaching vulnerable areas such as steel or iron. This type of finish is also becoming an industrial trend.

Assembling Your Boltless Warehouse Shelf

The Boltless shelves are very easy to assemble, there is no need for any hardware to assemble it. These shelving are made with rails and upright posts. The steel edge shelves clip into slots on the upright frames, making it a quick and simple assembly process. Still, back bracing may be required for extra support.

Sizes Available

The Boltless warehouse shelves come in a range of sizes. We offer a few different sizes, you have the option of choosing shelves with:

Commercial Shelves

These shelves are used for commercial purposes and commonly found in kitchens to maintain a safe and sanitary space. They are made out of steel and can hold up to 400 lbs. and can be kept in any area. Commercial shelves can save floor space, providing more room for other uses. Because they are finished with paint, it is easy to touch them up.

Galvanized Steel

This is a regular steel sheet that is coated in zinc to protect it against corrosion. The regular steel material can easily rust if it comes in contact with moisture, either from rain or the atmosphere if not coated.

Painted Finish

The industrial shelves are coated with paint. The paint finish refers to the amount of light that the paint reflects from the shelf. The type of paint finish can vary depending on preference. However, the higher the shine of the paint the more durable it will be.

Plated Or Epoxy

Epoxy coating is made out of two distinct elements, epoxy resin and polyamine hardener known as a catalyst. This is a coat of thick, protective material used to prevent outer deterioration.
